This jam-packed tour begins with a tour of Belize City. Belize City is teeming with commerce and has adapted its two sides of the river with a connection by the Swing Bridge, the only manual swing bridge in the world. You will see the bustle, along with historic Fort George, a variety of embassies, consulate homes, and an area called the Beverly Hills of Belize.
From here, you will visit Old Belize, a site that will offer a deeper appreciation for the country and people of Belize. You can enjoy the displays at your leisure, including a rainforest exhibit that showcases giant tropical trees that tower the path you walk. There is also a Maya exhibit, portraying the mysticism of Mayan culture.
After the sensory overload of the Old Belize exhibit, you’ll spend approximately 3 hours at Cucumber Beach, located on the same property as Old Belize. On the beach you can dip into the Caribbean Sea, lounge under one of the palapas or a coconut tree with your favorite drink, have a bite to eat or bask in the sun for a bit. There is no snorkeling from this beach since the reef system is about seven miles from shore.
